Impact & track record

Work that made a difference to real people.

Behind every project is someone who got their evenings back, a customer who stopped waiting, or a leader who finally trusted the numbers. Here's some of the work our team is proud of, from HOD projects and from our people's careers.

HOD project · In progress

A century of paper, brought online

  • Sector: Public sector, property & land
  • Location: Lagos, Nigeria
  • Deployment: On-premise
  • Services: Digitisation, EDMS, infrastructure, migration

The challenge

A public-sector organisation holds millions of property records, some dating back to the 1920s. Files are fragile, spread across rooms of cabinets and only partly captured in an older document system with inconsistent file numbers and almost no searchable information. Finding one file can take hours, and every time a fragile original is handled, it is put at risk.

What we're doing

We're delivering a complete records programme: a digitisation studio for careful scanning and indexing, physical location mapping down to the room, cabinet and drawer, and an on-premise document and records management platform with workflows, audit trails and retention rules built around data protection and archival regulations. Legacy files are migrated, cleaned and checked before they enter the new system.

The impact

Staff will search by name, plot or file number and have the record on screen in seconds. Originals stay safely archived, every access is logged, and the organisation gains a foundation for a fully digital office.

Team experience

Payment and asset-management systems people's money depends on

  • Sector: Financial services
  • Where: Leadway, SystemSpecs, Lagos
  • People: Oyin Oyegoke, Emmanuel Idusuyi

The challenge

In financial services, software isn't allowed to be “mostly right”. Payments must be captured, stored and transferred correctly every time, across many apps and services, while staying secure and fast as usage grows.

What our people did

At Leadway, Oyin designed and built payments software that keeps data capture, storage and transfer efficient across the group's apps and services, while Emmanuel leads development of secure, scalable asset-management systems that support portfolio operations and reporting. Before that, Oyin built Java/Spring Boot and JavaScript applications at SystemSpecs, one of Nigeria's foremost fintech companies.

The impact

Fault-tolerant systems serving thousands of users, and hard-won experience in the security, reliability and audit standards that financial institutions, and any organisation handling sensitive records, need.

Team experience

Seven years making insurance simpler, with AI in the workflow

  • Sector: Insurance & InsurTech
  • Where: Abba & King Systems
  • People: Emmanuel Idusuyi, Kingsley Ifeora

The challenge

Insurance runs on complex policies, claims and approvals, and it's easy for software to make that complexity worse for customers and staff.

What our people did

Emmanuel spent seven years as Team Lead Frontend Engineer on Abba & King's insurance and financial-services application, working with the fintech team from early product through to maturity. Kingsley joined as a UX designer, building design systems and conducting user research for AI-assisted policy management and claims-support workflows.

The impact

A product that kept improving year after year, and a team that learned how to put AI into enterprise workflows in a way people actually trust and use.

Team experience

Cloud guardrails that let teams move fast, safely

  • Sector: Engineering, health, government
  • Where: Stantec, ISM, Saskatchewan Health Authority (Canada)
  • Person: Seun Ogeye

The challenge

Large organisations want every team to use the cloud freely, without anyone opening a security hole or running up an unexpected bill.

What our people did

As an Azure Infrastructure Specialist at Stantec, a global engineering firm, Seun provides enterprise-scale cloud governance and establishes guardrails that balance security with operational agility across multiple business units. Before that, Seun designed and supported Azure virtual machines, storage and networks with Terraform at ISM, maintained routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs, and resolved infrastructure and network incidents for the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

The impact

Teams that can innovate without waiting on IT, and infrastructure that stays secure, compliant and cost-aware. It's exactly the approach we bring to clients moving to the cloud or securing on-premise networks.

Team experience

From a Lagos lending engine to products used by millions

  • Sector: Fintech, gaming, AdTech
  • Where: One Credit, NQLB (Lagos); InnoGames, adjoe (Hamburg)
  • Person: Omoloro Oyegoke

The challenge

Building one good system is hard. Building the teams and architecture that keep delivering as products scale to millions of users is harder.

What our people did

In Lagos, Omoloro designed and programmed the core loan-management systems at One Credit, including integrations with third-party credit ratings and banking platforms, then led a fintech engineering team at NQLB. In Germany, Omoloro was responsible for technical planning and leadership as a senior developer at InnoGames, one of the country's leading game studios with millions of daily players, before leading a 50+ person technology department at adjoe and becoming its Vice President of Technology.

The impact

A rare mix of hands-on African fintech experience and international leadership at scale. It shapes how we plan architecture, teams and delivery for every HOD client.

Team experience

Rebuilding the engine while the car is moving

  • Sector: Mobility & technology
  • Where: MAX, Lagos
  • Person: Oyin Oyegoke

The challenge

A growing company's backend had become a single, tightly coupled monolith. It was slow to change and risky to scale, and the business couldn't afford to stop while it was fixed.

What our people did

Oyin helped design and carry out the migration from a monolith to a microservices architecture, then continued as a senior engineer working with TypeScript, Node.js, Kafka, React and Google Cloud, with proper CI/CD so changes could ship safely.

The impact

Better backend performance and a platform that could grow with demand. It's the same step-by-step modernisation we offer organisations stuck on ageing systems.

Team experience

Small design changes, measurable results

  • Sector: Consumer apps, edtech, identity
  • Where: Firacard, Parach Computer Institute, Mopheth Systems, Okta
  • Person: Kingsley Ifeora

The challenge

Users abandon products that confuse them. The fix usually isn't more features. It's understanding where people get stuck.

What our people did

Kingsley redesigned and iterated on Firacard's web and mobile card-creation flow, and introduced consistent UI components across web and mobile at Parach Computer Institute. Since then, Kingsley has led research-driven UX work for a Canadian mentorship and education platform and served as a Senior UX Designer for Okta, the identity and access management company.

The impact

25% more completed card designs at Firacard, and an estimated 30% fewer design inconsistencies at Parach. Proof that good UX shows up in the numbers.

Team experience

Teaching AI to give better answers

  • Sector: Artificial intelligence
  • Where: Turing (Palo Alto, remote)
  • Person: Oyin Oyegoke

The challenge

AI systems used by millions of people need careful training and evaluation to be accurate, helpful and safe.

What our people did

As a software engineer and AI trainer at Turing, Oyin delivers AI and reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) solutions for Turing's global clients, directly improving response accuracy and user satisfaction across global-scale platforms.

The impact

Practical, current knowledge of how modern AI works and where it fails. We use it to help clients adopt AI that actually helps, rather than AI for its own sake.

“Team experience” stories describe work HOD team members delivered in current and previous roles, as listed on their professional profiles. Client and employer names are used only to describe that experience and do not imply endorsement of HOD Technologies.
